My last summer directing the Kaktovik Oceanography Program was bittersweet. I’m so grateful to have been involved with such a wonderful program but t was hard to say goodbye to all the kids I’ve gotten to know over 3 years. I’ll miss you, Kaktovik!

We also had plenty of time to play in Kaktovik while we weren’t working with the Oceanography Program! My favorite extra curricular was helping my good friend Will Daniels teach the new grad students how to take sediment cores. My second favorite extra curricular was playing with the local puppies. My third favorite extra curricular was scouting for polar bears at the bone pile while eating cheddar bunnies!
