After two weeks of non-stop Oceanography Program action in Kaktovik, I was so appreciative to have a full day to do whatever I wanted in Fairbanks. Our friends Greta and Eric were kind enough to be tour guides for my lab mate Christina and me.

We hiked 9 miles from Angel Rocks to Chena Hot springs (during which we saw a moose and ate wild blueberries), ate a delicious meal, and soaked in the hot springs, which are said to have magical curative powers. Not sure about the last part, but it was 100% relaxing.
I think we took full advantage of our one day off!
